Speaker 0 00:00:00 Just in time for Valentine's day through my window, or as it's originally known in Spanish at that, I assume even Donna was released on Netflix. This February 4th, the movie is a teen romance film directed by Marcel Flores based on the bestselling novel by . The book tells a story of Spanish teenager played, right? Glad I got you. Who lives next door to Odyssey played by Julio Pena for as long as I can remember, she has had a crush on Playboy artists with a wifi password, bringing them together. I just said our good fall for each other. A classic Wattpad story.
Speaker 0 00:00:37 who joined Wattpad in 2009 is a Venezuelan writer based in North Carolina who immigrated to the states. According to pop sugar, go though he has amassed a huge following on platforms like Instagram, Twitter, tic talk, and Wattpad from fans of the go brothers series through my window is the first installment go. Those says the book was based on her own personal experience back in college, but she was stealing her own neighbor's Wi-Fi. The first book has around 346 million reads on Wattpad and its English translation, which came out January 4th has her own 4.3 million reads on the online social reading platform. So it is not surprising that the book would not only go on to be published, but also turned into a movie after its huge success because of set success of the series. I was surprised that I didn't find people who could tell me anything about the book or movie. So I decided to watch it myself. So here's my reaction to watching through my window and just in case, watch out for some spoilers.
Speaker 1 00:01:40 Hey everyone, it's currently 9:14 PM on February 16th. Um, there's a little bit of rain in the background. I have my popcorn with me and through my window is queued up. So what's watch, I'll be checking in as the movie progressive. So essentially we are two minutes in and we learn everything about Raquel and RS. And so now what's interesting is that it seems like this crush she has is kind of like an obsession that is like borderline creepy. She has all these like pictures of him saved to her computer and is giving real Joe Goldberg vibes as of right now. So her obsession is getting questionable at this point. She just Knuck into the guy school to go see his soccer practice. It's Hmm. It's questionable at the moment, we will see, you know what I thought there would be more progression to the movie, but I think we're like less than 15 minutes in. And she already told the guy that she likes him, that she's obsessed with him. I'm confused. I'm hoping that he gets better or that this is going somewhere. I don't know that it surprises me because I'm not sure where this is going.
Speaker 1 00:03:14 We are now at the midpoint of the movie so far, I'm still giving me very Wattpad vibes. Um, we learn that the angsty leading man Addis doesn't want to fall in love because he doesn't believe in love and things love as a weakness. Classic what pad. So maybe the plot line will be a little bit more like expected. I still don't know where this movie is going. So we will see, I truly do not know if I will be able to get through this movie tonight. Um, I keep taking pauses cause I just, I get tired of it. It's not a mean thing to say. I just keep getting tired of it. And I need like a break. It is now 12:43 AM and I've finally finished the movie. I truly had to take a ton of pauses to get through it. Couldn't just watch it all at once.
Speaker 1 00:04:32 I feel like the movie was giving the angsty Wattpad vibes that a lot of people look for in these types of movies. Um, I think for teen romance film though, I feel like the first half didn't make any sense to me. I just kept like questioning where this was going. And then they tried to fit everything into like the other half. It felt so disconnected from the first half. And then the second half, I feel like they just solved everything without really getting through like the actual problem solving. They just skipped it. And then you just know that the problem got solved, but there was nothing that happened to solve it. I also did not like, like the chemistry, like, like I felt like there was no like romantic chemistry between the, the actors and the characters. I feel like it was a very forced relationship. I felt like it was giving me like a lot of after vibes of like the after films. But like, I don't know. I feel like it wasn't terrible. I would watch it again. If you are looking for a romantic movie to watch, I would not reach for this immediately. Not that I'm a film critic or anything. These are just my thoughts.
Speaker 0 00:05:58 So those are my thoughts. But if you would like to form some opinions of your own or you enjoy the classic, what pad romance go watch through my window on Netflix for daily in your news, this was Mariaca Manu.
